My mom drove to TX and flew out with me and the girls for a 4 day 3 night trip to CA to see my cousin get married. Most of the family from GA flew there also to attend as well. Mom did great on the plane and didn't get air sick on the way there. I was greatful for that. My brother flew in an hour after we did and we were off to enjoy the family.
The First night was a night of hugs and laughter as we all were seeing each other since Thanksgiving. We have not seen my cousin, Catherine (the bride) in over 10 years. She had been hard at work in college and then working right after that. We enjoyed each others company and a toast to the bride.
The day of the wedding we had to go to the mall to find sweaters as the weather was much cooler than anticipated from TX (TX 105, CA 70ish) After the mall, my mom got a chance to have lunch with a friend that lives in CA that she has not seen in 20 years. It was great to see them unite and laugh and smile.
Once we were done with lunch we were off to the hotel to get ready for the wedding. That was an adventure in itself. 4 girls and one guy trying to get ready in 45 mins. WOW... What were we thinking? LOL BUT we did it and headed off to the vineyard and hour away.
The ceremony was beautiful, the open bar was AWESOME :-) and the dinner was great. Emily danced the whole night and became the spotlight among all of the adults who were out on the dance floor and for those who were spectating.
After hours of fun we left to head back to the hotel since we were going to San Francisco the next morning. Needless to say my brother REALLY enjoyed the open bar and we didn't make it 15 mins from the vineyard and.....yep....he got sick...in the car. Upon pulling over on I-580 and loosing my family of cars we were following...the cops pulled up to check on us. All was good after I received a field sobriety test.....Thanks Ralph...it was great fun. We spent the next hour at a gas station and finally made it to the hotel a couple of hours later.
Sunday morning Ralph was not as bad off as any of us thought he would be. We went to San Francisco to do our touristy thing. IT WAS SO COLD. (63) We ended up getting jackets while we were there right after our trolly ride.
Our trip went by to fast and we were off to fly back to TX. It was great to see my mom at the wedding and for visiting me and the girls. Glad she was able to drive without any pain from her past surgeries. Enjoy the pictures!
